North West construction and maintenance specialist HMS is pleased to have received Considerate Constructors accreditation for its Ogden’s site in North Liverpool.
The independent Considerate Constructors Scheme is aimed at improving the image of the construction industry. Companies register with the Scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, which encourages best practice beyond statutory requirements.
The audit focused on the following key areas:
- Care about appearance
- Respect the community
- Protect the environment
- Secure everyone’s safety
- Value the workforce
HMS scored good or very good in all cases. The auditor commented that there were ‘very good standards of CCS related performance’ on site and the HMS Site Team was ‘attentive to the expanding residential character of the neighbourhood and also to the risks of impact on local community enterprise and road users’.
Additional feedback centred on HMS’ site-related outreach/engagement with neighbours and the wider area, which contributes to positive community goodwill.
‘Inclusivity and respect are inherent in corporate and site ethos, practice and performance are promoted through site displays of associated notices, site inductions and corporate publications – including a comprehensive Equality & Diversity Handbook; the site team maintains an open-door, leads by example and engages at all times with a familiar, established workforce. Interaction and feedback etc. are positively encouraged,’ the report concluded.
Gail Farley, Customer Experience Manager at HMS, said, “Gaining Considerate Constructors accreditation at Ogden’s is a testament to the works being undertaken and to the hard work of the Site Team.
“We will continue to build on our performance on site over the coming months and will be reassessed after 6 months.”
HMS has published its March 2018 Gender Pay Gap Report, which presents snapshot data for the organisation as of 5th April 2017.
