A £2 million donation from North West construction and maintenance specialist HMS will support ComMutual, LMH Group’s charitable arm, to deliver a wide range of meaningful projects across Merseyside in 2018/19.
Unlike other contractors, HMS reinvests 100% of its commercial profits into employment and wider social initiatives. It is an approach that has seen £12.4 million gift aided for social projects since the company’s establishment in 2011.
This year’s funding will ensure a spectrum of much-needed ComMutual projects supporting local communities can continue or expand into the years ahead.
Earlier this week, HMS took centre stage at a special event held in ComMutual’s FireFit Hub facility, South Liverpool, to celebrate the charity’s first anniversary. Managing Director Paul Worthington spoke about the ‘HMS difference’ before presenting the £2 million cheque.
Paul explained, “HMS is proud to be more than a construction and maintenance company. All our activities are guided by a commitment to innovation and social responsibility, with customers at the heart of everything we do.
“We recognise that we have an important role to play within our communities. By reinvesting profits for meaningful social outcomes, we can help to do even more.”
ComMutual Managing Director Kate Shone added, “Key partner organisations and stakeholders including Deputy Mayor Ann O’Byrne joined in the celebration event, which was a fantastic opportunity to highlight how collaboration can deliver positive impacts across Merseyside.
