HMS staff raise money for charity

Zoe's Place

HMS staff took part in a charity event with the local branch of Frankie and Bennie restaurant to raise money for the Zoë's Place Trust.

Zoë's Place Trust is a registered charity providing palliative respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This care will be provided in a caring, safe, home from home environment known as 'Zoë's Place Baby Hospices'.

Zoë's Place Liverpool was the first Zoë's Place Baby Hospice in the UK and has now been in operation for 16 years, caring for babies with life-limiting or life threatening conditions. The Hospice does not have a set catchment area and welcomes babies from all over the UK.

Zoë's Place currently cares for 50 babies and their families on a one to one basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Zoë's Place relies upon the generosity of the public, grant making trusts and our corporate partners to raise our current running costs of £1,200,000 per annum.

HMS Managing Director Paul Worthington said, "The team were really keen to take part and donate to such a worthwhile cause. The company supported the event organised by the restaurant as HMS is keen to contribute to local charities like this".

Construction Skills Certification Scheme

HMS is proud to have been given a Gold Award for its commitment to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).

The CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents. CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by clients to demonstrate competence and a good level of health and safety awareness.

HMS has made a commitment to the scheme as part of our strategy to promote good health and safety practices and awareness both with our staff and contractors. The award reinforces this commitment and delivery of our corporate aims.

Paul Worthington, Managing Director commented "Working safely in customers' homes and on the construction sites where we operate is one of HMS's principle values".
